After the brutal beatdown suffered last week against TCU, there isn't much left to fight for in the conference besides beating the team down south. That being said, it will be interesting to see what the team does this week against against SDSU and throughout the rest of the year. Yes, the Utes will put their nation-leading bowl win streak at risk once again the only question is where and against whom. My thoughts point the winner of next week's rivalry game will most likely play in the Las Vegas Bowl with the loser going to the Poinsettia Bowl in San Diego. THe only thing that bothers me about this is that if things work out a certain way, BYU could go to Vegas for a fifth straight time. Now yes they do pack the house every year, but you would think they would get tired of the same team being there after a while. And even if Utah wins they still may go to San Diego just because Vegas likes BYU so much.
Personally, i think the Utes will go to vegas this year. They clearly have a better team than the Cougars and i honestly think it would do the vegas bowl a whole lot of good to see some change. Either way both teams will play a Pac 10 school, most likely Cal or Arizona or possibly even Oregon St. (i don't think so though). Bowls are all about money and revenue i am pretty sure the Utes can do the same thing that BYU has done for the last couple of years. I guess we'll find out in the coming weeks where the chips will fall.
